Overwatering is certainly a major cause of loss for lavender, as well
as its compatriots cistus, helianthus, rosemary, bush morning glory,
thyme, etc.... all those things that evolved in a sunny, summer dry
Mediterranean climate. In cooler, wetter climes, you should always
make special consideration for these plants to have good drainage, and
keep your eyes out for varieties proven to be more tolerant of your
climate.

Or you could move south and join us........ ;')

Spanish, Hidcote, Munstead, Alba, Spike and Canary Island
varieties...)
