Somewhere besides the system tray (the clock and icons) on your panel, there should be a clipboard history manager. You know, the things you copy and paste. There is a history of it if you ever need it. In general, copy-pasting works the same here: Ctrl+X for cutting and Ctrl+C for copying into clipboard (the selected text, other selections, files, ...), and Ctrl+V for pasting. Except the terminal window; when copying or pasting from or into the terminal, additionally use the Shift modifier, so Ctrl+Shift+C and Ctrl+Shift+V.
